Foodstuffs South Island Category Services Team

The Category Services Team work in conjunction with, and support the Promotions teams of the three major retail banner groups and across all grocery, chilled and frozen categories.

The Team

Main responsibilities

  • New product analysis and ranging for all grocery, chilled & frozen categories
  • On shelf layout of all grocery, chilled & frozen categories
  • Category reviews of all grocery, chilled & frozen
  • Data management & planogram approval for major & minor store relays
  • Category & product trials within stores

Working in conjunction with our vendors

For the Category Services team, collaboration with our vendors is key to maximising opportunities within our stores. Knowledge and expertise for both Category Services and vendors can increase significantly when working together on the following:

  • Regular supplier category reviews and workshops
  • Updates on market trends within general and specific markets
  • Supplier company direction and focus
  • Sharing consumer shopper behaviour research
  • Sharing general category research
  • Inclusion in major new product launches affecting category layout
  • Collaboration and involvement with new concepts and ideas
